Partial torsion can lead to complete torsion, so surgery is typically recommended.

PAIN: I believe that if you had necrosis of the testicle you would have pain, fever and generalized illness.  If you have some mild discomfort and swelling on the back of the testicle it may be epididymitis.  If you have any lump on the testicle you must get this checked by your doctor.

It presents with intermittent, debilitating pain (bent-over pain) of sudden onset and sudden relief. It is a risk factor for full torsion and a procedure can be due to prevent this (scrotal orchidopexy).

Need Laparoscopy now: There is a small percentage of patients who experience ovarian torsion bilaterally. Because of your previous history you need to have your GYN MD perform Laparoscopy to assess the remaining ovary for torsion or abnormality. Sometimes the ovary can be salvaged.
