That REALLY depends: Paraguard does not usually cause missed periods.  So, the reason for missing this cycle will depend on several factors.  Your age, other symptoms you're experiencing, medical conditions, and other medications you take are just a few facts which should be taken into account when evaluating a missed cycle. See a Doctor: Paragard may not prevent pregnancy if its falling out or not correctly positioned in the uterus.  If you suspect it is falling out, you should see a doctor who can do an exam and see what is going on.  If its really falling out, it needs to be removed and you will need a different contraceptive. See your GYN: Iud help
you should have your ob/gyn look and make sure it is in place. If it is not in the uterine cavity it's not doing it's job. The strings on a pargard should be soft and your partner should not feel them when you are having intercourse. You are at increased risk of pregnancy if your iud is not in the correct location.

you can check: You can feel for the strings. If you can feel the strings (they usually just lay over the cervix) most likely there is no problem. It is also checked at each routine visit.
