Gastric reflux: Acidic reflux is irritating to the nasal mucosa and can cause symptoms similar to allergy.  It seems likely that you have treated acid reflux and removed the irritating trigger, thereby also treating your "allergy" (or at least the acid reflux was exacerbating allergy-related inflammation).  Well done!

what are the few symptoms of allergy with pantoprazole? and how long after taking it can show allergic symptoms? i am taking since 8 months. i have itchy hands and feet since two days.

Medication allergy: While potentially any medication can cause an allergic reaction, if your symptoms have been ruled out to be from anything else, then you can attribute them to the medication you are taking. Before stopping it, you have to consult the doctor who prescribed it and they can direct you if you need to see an allergist or dermatologist.

what could be the cause of my chronic cough?  i have gerd which is controlled with protonix (pantoprazole). tested negative for allergies. do have sinus congestion.

Cough: Depends on the pattern of your cough, the 2 other entities that need to be ruled out are asthma and chronic sinusitis. Reflux can still cause a cough if not well controlled. A visit to the allergist may help elucidate the problem.

Not safe: Colon cleansing can cause  electrolyte imbalances in your blood, and in my opinion are not safe. A natural way to regulate your bowel function would be to  eat a diet rich in fiber and drink sufficient water.

Prilosec: Both are proton pump inhibitors used to lower the acid in the stomach, in conditions like stomach ulcers & reflux disease.

THC protonix (pantoprazole): Yes a false positive test can be obtained but only on the urine dipstick - with the quantitative test there is no false results.

Need to see GI : May be fundoplication is not tight enough .u should see GI who can confirm it .

Protonix (pantoprazole) S.E.'s: Protonix (pantoprazole) is a very well tolerated medication, but in the short term it and other proton pump inhibitors can cause a number of dose-dependent side effects including commonly headache and diarrhea. Longer term use carries other consequences (please see my earlier answer on this topic in healthtap) including bone thinning ; risk of infection (like c.Difficile).

i'm taking 20mg pantoprazole for a long time and it is not working any longer. it was suggested i try two tablets of prilosec otc (40mg). i'm 120 lbs.

PPI: Both of these medications are considered proton pump inhibitors, PPI.  They work by inhibiting the acid produced by the stomach and therefore decreasing the risk for developing ulcer.  All of the medications are available over-the-counter at a usually lower dose.  You may be able to get a prescription for a higher dose than may be cheaper.

my wife n i are planning for a baby. currently she is taking pantoprazole for her gastritis. is there any chances for pregnancy while taking pantopraz?
