Most unlikely: Fatty infiltration of the pancreas can occur in diabetes and patients who are overweight. It is overwhelmingly benign and doesn't cause pancreatic dysfunction or pain.

Many possible causes: "fatty liver" can be seen in many situations such as obesity, alcohol use, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, problems with high triglycerides.  However, it can eventually lead to problem called NASH and ultimately to cirrhosis of the liver if not treated.  Treatment usually involves identifying the reason for the problem and treating accordingly.

Fatty liver: Fatty infiltration of the liver can be a common finding on ultrasound. Maybe weight loss, controlling diabetes if present, avoid excess alcohol. Check with your doctor if there are any medications to avoid. This can also be a minor radiology finding of little clinical significance. Ask your doctor.

Fatty liver: Hi. What was the indication for the abdominal CT? Elevated liver enzymes? The only objective abnormality there is the mild fatty liver (aka hepatic steatosis). The empty gallbladder is not a problem. The fact the pancreas can't be visualized well is probably not a problem unless the CT was being done to look for pancreatic pathology. Do you have type 2 diabetes?

Metabolic Syndrome: A fatty pancreas is generally a sign systemic issue and there is often fatty liver . It's a sign of excess "visceral" (abdominal fat). Although, the fat if extreme could cause the pancreas not to work as well, it is usually a sign of overall intra-abdominal fat which a risk factor for cholesterol probs, high BP, prediabetes &amp; DM. Starting a gentle exercise program and healthy diet are key!
