Need Medical checkup: Infected pimple on the face may need antibiotics since your lymph node enlargement indicates spreading infection. You should go see a doctor within 24 hours(Thursday) and seek his/her advice for using an antibiotic to control the infection. I do not think you should be concerned about any cancer type issues right now.

Coincidence: I have never heard of a mandibular (under the jaw) lymph node enlarge secondary to ovulation.

Adenitis: I would see a doctor if it's affecting your swallowing, the node is red and tender, or you have a fever.  Bacterial lymphadenitis requires antibiotics. Most times, viral infections cause inflamed, tender nodes, though the addition of the above symptoms makes ruling out lymphadenitis important. Please at least discuss with your doctor in more detail.

Lymphoproliferative: Lympho proliferative disorder to be considered.. Not knowing your age, HIV status.........Tuberculosis/Sarcoidosis/Infectious mononucleosis can be considered. A lymph node Bx,and basic blood work will help. Your travel Hx will help.

Don't Goad That Node: Not usually. This happens, then they go away.The worst thing you can do is keep fooling with it.Estimate the size then leave it alone for at least one week,prefer- ably two,then check it again. Bigger?Smaller?Same? Less tender?More tender?Then decide if you need to see your doctor. If getting visibly bigge or gets more painful before then,or more lumps appear or other symptoms come-up, go sooner.

Could be: We all have lymph nodes in different parts of our bodies including the neck and jaw areas. Mostly they are small and you can't feel them. Occasionally they get bigger because of multiple reasons like inflammation, infection or yes, cancer too. If you have persistently enlarged nodes anywhere you should have them checked by your primary doc.  Don't panic, just get checked.

See your doctor: Depends upon your age and whether you smoke and drink alcohol.  Most  nodes in the neck are benign and related to inflammation/infection.  But, tumors of the mouth and throat can spread to lymph nodes under the jaw. Lymphoma sometimes starts as lymph nodes in the neck. The submandibular salivary gland is under the jaw and may get inflamed. Get it checked if the nodes have been present for 2+ weeks.
