i have blurred vision and pain upon movement of the eye    , had cataract surgery in late sept  and been having problems ever since,   i was attacked by my step daughter  ( punched 14 times in the eyes      )  could this be part of the trouble now????????

Trauma certainly can: If you haven't so far you need to have your eyes examined for evidence that trauma has left you with some significant issues. You may have had some internal bleeding(in the eye), be developing a pressure problem,etc.All this may end up causing permanent visual impairment if not treated.

involuntary movements of the eye and lip. i have this small contractions of the lip and a small movement in the eye for about a month. what can it be.

Twitches: Small twitches at the corner of the mouth or of the eyelids occasionally occur when we are stressed (tired, emotionally strained, etc.). Although they are annoying, they usually disappear within a few weeks. Rest, cool compresses, identifying and decreasing the stressor can all help. If the twitches become severe, painful or so not resolve, see your doctor.

what causes a strained muscle feeling at the top behind the eye and occasional pain on movement? the strained sensation is like the burning of an ankle sprain. i also have dry eyes and apparently no abrasions.

Eye or Sinus: Does your eye look irritated or red, especially underneath the upper eyelid? If so, you may have a type of inflammatory surface reaction called superior limbic keratitis. If the eye looks normal, then the problem may be an inflamed eye muscle (orbital myositis), or sinus infection (there are sinuses on all sides of the eye socket except the outer side, and sinus pain can feel like eye pain)

: Pain on eye movement is never normal.  Your body (eyes) are talking to you. Listen and take good notes such as did you get something in your eyes or is it related to  smoke or sunshine. Share with your Dr and you all will be able to figure it out.

my four month old baby son seems to have rapid eye movement at different times during the day. is that normal. it's not very fast movement either.

REM: Rapid eye movements may be entirely normal in infants HOWEVER  THIS is the kind of observation your Pediatrician will NOT be annoyed about if you question him/her......suggest you check this out....

Several types: Astigmatism is common, and is when the cornea is not the same roundness all the way around (it is a little flatter in one direction, like the surface of a football). Keratoconus is when the center of the cornea points outward too much, and cornea plana is when the cornea is too flat.

Accommodation: Both the cornea and the crystalline lens function to refract the light into eye.  The lens also has the additional function of changing shape through accommodation to give you stronger near focus.  This process is what allows younger people to read without glasses and why people over 40 need reading glasses as the lens loses it accommodation.

Hot compresses and removal of the oil through a special cleaning technique called lid scrubs helps.  Sometimes antibiotics and flax seed oil are necessary.
