i have swelling in my face on one side of jaw. google suggested salivary gland cancer but would my doctor noticed it upon examining my mouth? i have no numbness or anything. it came on suddenly. they think its abscessed tooth. dental appt is made?

: It would be prudent to have your teeth examined to determine if the swelling is due to an abscess. If it is due to your salivary gland, it may be as simple as a blocked duct.

i had a tooth abscess that caused the lymph nodes along my jaw to swell on one side. if someone accidentally hit that lymph node, would it swell more? i was accidentally hit right in my jaw by my younger brother and now have lots of swelling and pain

i had a blood clot come from my tooth abcess no puss just a blood clot is that normal? my lower right side of lower jaw is swollen just started keflex today. swelling has been prestenit and gottwn bigger since this morning should i worry..

Certainly: Keflex is not usually prescribed for dental infections, so it's not the first choice for antibiotics. You do understand that antibiotics alone will not solve your dental infection... the tooth or gum needs to be physically treated by a dentist. Please make an emergency appointment ASAP and feel better soon.

Dental infection: Tooth abscess will not resolve on its own with home care. The most common type of dental abscess is a tooth, and the second most common is a gum or combination of both tooth-gum abscess. In order to get appropriate treatment it is important to know the underlying cause for this infection. Rec.: see your dentist for evaluation, x-rays and treatment. Predictable treatment and outcome.

i have no insurance and 1 week on penicillin. jaw pain, swelling, and pain are still here. what is going on. i can't afford a dentist.help (abscess)?

Jaw Pain: Unfortunately, sometimes when we have a serious situation such as you do we just have to go be seen despite the fact we have no insurance.  Most of us don't have dental insurance.  You need to get this taken care of as this potentially could be disfiguring and even life threatening.  Explain your situation to who cares for you, they may be able to help with payments etc.  Good luck.

Serious: I am assuming that this is a tooth abscess and this can be deadly.  Seek help asap.  See a dentist.

It should go away: An infected tooth that required extraction means that you did have an abscess. That is why they extracted your tooth. Like any infection it will take time to heal. Now that the source of the infection is gone it will start to heal. The antibiotic will help. It should start to feel better within 1-3 days. If not then go back to your dentist for followup.

i had an abscess beside my cavity, it's gone and my tooth no longer hurts but i have tender swelling along my jaw. difficultly swallowing as well. er?

Dentist, not ER: You need to see a dentist to have that tooth examined and restored. ER's normally do not perform routine dental care.
You'll wait hours to be seen and in the end have a prescription for antibiotics to help control the infection. Bypass the long wait and go to a dentist.

woke with swelling at parotoid, cyst in jaw and abscess above eye.  had abscess drainedlast night in er.  now swelling going up forehead and into duct, entire eyelid looks red/bruised. is it normal after this type of procedure for it to look worse before

NormalOrNot-Go Back!: Don't speculate, ambulate (OK, use your car and drive) back to the  ER for a re-check. There are too many variables to consider and sort-out via a short text message. That's a serious area of the body and you don't want any complications so go back and get it looked-at.
