i'm 20 (almost 21) and i have pain that seems to radiate from my sternum to the breast bone under my breasts. my breasts feel uncomfortable and my chest and neck seems tight. some times putting my hand on my sternum helps. what could this be?

Costochondritis: Common cause of pain you are describing would be costochondritis. This is a condition that comes about because of inflammation between your rib and your sternum. Viral process will often initiate the problem.

i have a grey coloured discoloratio on my skin just  under my breast bone between my breasts. it  is not itchy or red or painful in any way.

Multiple causes : This may be caused by a number of different issues. Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is darkening of the skin that can occur after minor injury such as rubbing or after a minor rash resolves. Seborrheic keratoses are benign grayish to brownish age or wisdom spots that grow in women commonly in this area. See a dermatologist to evaluate the cause of the discoloration in your case.

when i press firmly on my breast bone like the sternum between my breasts it hurts. is that normal?

Bone pain: It is a very superficial bone with no muscle overlying it. It is normal for it to be tender if you push hard enough. If you feel that the pain is out of proportion to the amount of pressure you are applying then you should get an x-ray and your doctor may also feel a CT scan and MRI are also necessary.

Costochondritis: Most likely this is just an inflammation of the cartilage tissue about your sternum or breastbone which is a fairly common finding and tends to be self- limiting or goes away on its own.  Over the counter medication  can help.  If it persists then see your doctor.

Requires exam and : blood testing. Never ignore painful glands or gland swelling and you should be checked for infection and/or inflammation.

Breast pain: Given that it is bilateral (both sides) and i will assume that you do not feel any masses or lumps, then the most likely cause is hormonal,  or rather, related to your cycle.  There are ways to treat this breast pain including birth control pills to 'suppress' your cycle, limiting caffeine and alcohol, or consideration of primrose oil tablets.  Talk with your doctor about options!

Possible: I would consider conservative therapies first such as strengthening exercises for your core.  Also look up exercises to strengthen the upper back.  A good book for exercised to help with pain is Pain Free by Peter Egoscue.  Consider chiropractice or osteopathic manipulation, accupuncture, massage.....If conservative therapies don't work then follow up with a breast or plastic surgeon.

i have pain just under my breast bone that moves up into either side of my neck. what is it ?

Pain in the: chest can come from many causes.  If you press on certain parts of your chest or move in a certain manner or position, and it hurts worse it's mostly likely related to a muscle or bone or cartilage.  That is the least worrisome type of pain.  If it only comes when you are under physical stress (like climbing stairs or running), or you get short of breath then see a healthcare provider ASAP.
