Yes: Thoracic spine areas will allow nerves to exit out of the spine and wrap around into the chest wall and abdomen.  So herniated discs there can cause pain into these areas as well.  I would consider seeing a pain specialist for treatment options like epidural steroid injection or even facet joint treatments.

No: It may mean that there is fluid in the lungs and so it must be checked out by a doctor. Avoid salt intake.

May be muscle spasm: Sometimes a nerve gets "pinched" as it leaves a vertebra and will cause pain and/or muscle spasm. When you breath in your chest and upper back muscle move and may also irritate that nerve. I would advise consulting with an osteopathic physician. If you were a long time smoker i might be more concerned but at 26 that diagnosis is way down at the bottom of the list. Anyway you should not be smoking.

Pleuritic pain: Pain that is aggravated by deep breathing is referred to as pleuritic pain, as it often arises from inflammation of the lining of the lung, which is called the pleura. Inflammation of the pleura can be caused by many different things. Since some of these are serious, you should be evaluated to find the cause.

Muscular pain, rib i: Can be anything from a muscle spasm to an irritation of the lining of the lung (the pleura).   If it continues and if associated with any shortness of breath, you need further studies and other tests.

Rib pain: This sounds like pain related to the movement of your ribs when you breathe, but it can also be muscular in nature.  You can try taking a deep breath, then coughing forcefully as you exhale.  You can also try rolling up a hand towel lengthwise and laying down on it, then moving from side to side to "massage" the area.  Consistent anti-inflammatories also helps, but usually takes about a month.

Muscle spasm : Most likely a muscle strain bothered by breathing movement. Try Naproxen for a few days. If no improvement,  see a Physical Therapist.
