Can be foreign body.: This might be many things.  It can be just irritation, or it can be from an injury to the chest/ribs, etc.  It might be pneumonia but there would be fever, etc.  Another possibility is that it could be a foreign body that was accidently swallowed and is stuck somewhere in the lungs/windpipe.  If this has been going on for a while, you should see your doctor for an xray to be sure nothing is there.

PCP: If  the shells are lodged in the wind pipe this would be associated with respiratory difficulty. It is more likely that there is irritation in your throat or esophagus. If there is any continued problem, please check with your PCP.

Your windpipe may hurt because your body is trying to get more oxygen into it than when you are resting, even when done jogging.  This is to be expected, but if you get difficulty breathing while jogging, see your doctor to test your heart as this may be a sign of heart disease.
