Tendinitis : When you do triceps extensions you are working muscles/ tendons about the elbow that can cause pain. The triceps itself on the back of the elbow can get irritated. More commonly , however , the 'power grip' used to do triceps extensions can result in lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow )esp. If u have just begun lifting or increased the # of workouts or wt. U are lifting. Rest, nsaids , ice . Gl!

Back of the elbow: The back of the elbow is close to the insertion of the triceps tendon.  It may be you need to change your exercise to avoid making this area more sore, so you can stretch it, and then build it stronger after the soreness subsides.

Triceps: Sounds like u could have medial snapping triceps.  Google it if it sounds like it u may want to see an orthopedist to evaluate if symptoms are painful enoughb for u.

Not typically: Ulnar neuropathy is a nerve entrapment at the elbow with typical symptoms of numbness of the small 1 and 1/2 fingers and weakness of the intrinsic hand muscles.  Pain in the triceps can be from a herniated disc in the neck at the C7 level.  Subluxation of the triceps muscle can mimic both conditions.  A good physical exam, complimented by emg/ncs can confirm the diagnosis.

Need Orthopedic Chec: You need to get it checked by an orthopedic doctor, it may be a muscle strain.Meanwhile continue ibuprofen.

Get it seen: This may be a simple "ganglion" tendon sheath nodule. Show it to your physician on your next visit.
