can charley horse happen in front of leg instead of calf? got spasm in front lower leg from below knee to foot. very painful like the usual spasm but this was in front of leg instead of back calf. not sure what caused?

: When you exceed the endurance capabilities of a muscle, it locks up in order to protect itself from tearing. (otherwise, continued use would cause the tear.) this type of spasm or cramp is known as a charlie horse. They can occur in any muscle that you exceed that muscle's endurance limit.

i have aches in left leg, different places mainly in the front of the lower leg and knee, no swelling and not hot to touch. my mother thinks dvt?

Accepted Answer

Not likely: It is possible, but the symptoms you describe are not classic for Dvt.  If you or your mother are concerned, a simple ultrasound can be done to check for it.  Classically a dvt in the leg causes posterior leg pain and swelling, usually not any symptoms in the front of the leg.  Again, don't hesitate to be seen.  An exam would go a long way in determining the likely cause.

Different shoes: You may try different shoes with softer soles.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

See vein specialist.: While you do have reflux, .5 seconds is minimal.  The longer the reflux the greater the venous insufficiency. Having reflux does not mean that it is the cause of your symptoms.  See a vein specialist for a venous evaluation to see if your symptoms are due to your veins.
