More info needed....: There are so many possible causes of your symptoms, and with no other info to go on, trying to diagnose your problem is fruitless. See a physician in your town who can take a full medical history and examine that knee.

See details: A likely cause is a rupture of a popliteal cyst. However, it is also prudent to rule out any blood clots. Have the leg evaluated.
