Need more informationeed more information: Could be neurological, muscular or bone or joint.  We need to chacterize what makes it better and what makes it worse. You can discuss it with your physician to help diagnose it

pain when i sit above my buttocks on bone area. lots of pain if i try to move or stand after sitting. what should i do? i have no pain when standing or walking but if i'm sitting or lying down . i'm only 19. pain started recently but i fell last year

Pilonidal Cyst: Is a likely diagnosis.   Do you fell a tender boil or "egg" near the top of the midline of your buttocks?   Your fall on your tailbone a year ago is not likely the cause.   If you have an infected pilonidal cyst it may need to be lanced by a physician for you to heal.   See an urgent care for an evaluation.   They are usually easily drained as initial treatment.

lower back pain over buttocks. worse when lying down or sitting. what could it be? is ice or heat better? don't remember doing anything to cause it

Arthritis/stenosis: This could just be some arthritis of the back.  In an acute injury it is technically better to use ice.  If no injury, then which ever of ice or heat helps. You could also have some stenosis (just means narrowing) irritating (pinching) a nerve causing the buttock pain. If it doesn't get better on its own after a week or two consider doing some physical therapy to strengthen your core and back.

Low back pain: The pain you describe may be related to the lumbar spine or the pelvis and hips. I would recommend a visit to a neurosurgeon or spine specialist who may recommend physical therapy, pain management or an imaging study to evaluate and treat the pain.

Back up plan.: It sounds as though your sleeping position may be causing some compression of structures involving the innervation of your leg. There could be other less likely possibilities also. To remove all doubt, have your spine and leg evaluated by a specialist.

Hip : I would be evaluating your hip further at this point. Either a sprained hip capsule or a labral tear, possibly both.

Go see your doc: You may need an MRI of the back.  Go see your doc.  After his exam, you may need steroids (medrol (methylprednisolone) dose pak) and a referral to the physical therapist and a xray or mri, depending on the exam.

Disk problem: Low back pain radiating to the buttock suggests an intervertebral disc bulging or ruptured causing pressure on a nerve root. Most of these improve in a matter of weeks but an MRI of the low back would give more information.

Possibly a sciatica: A sciatica is caused by an irritation of a nerve in the back that then can cause pain that runs down the leg like you are describing.  There are also potentially other causes as well.  Usually a detailed history and exam can determine the cause.  Thank you for your question.

Back pain: Perhaps the problem is something called acute (or chronic) sacroiliitis, an inflammation of the sacroiliac joint.  While not serious it can certainly be painfully annoying. Sometime, sacroiliitis can signal certain forms of arthritis such as polymyalgia rheumatica.  Another possibility is piriformis syndrome and lumbar disk issues.
