Mittlesmerch: The symptom of pain during ovulation is called "mittlesmerch" and other that the discomfort, it is harmless.

i've been slightly worried about my missing period recently. my sides hurt (ovary area) + i've been feeling off. what could this be attributed to?

Recent sex?: if yes, do a pregnancy test to make sure you are not pregnant. If negative pregnancy test, you can attribute to anovulation (or irregular periods due to lack of regularity with release of egg from your ovary). If this persists, see your GYN who may be able to help regulate your cycle

Take HPT: Reasons for missed/late periods: low body weight, obesity, marked weight ^ or v, over-exercise, endurance athletics, breast-feeding, ^ stress, illness, eating disorders (bulimia or anorexia), anovulatory cycle (no egg released), travel, hormone irregularities, drug use, meds (i.e., birth control) or medical problems (i.e. PCOS). #1 reason is pregnancy.

if your period still come on time after havin a ovary removed does that still mean your ovulating?

Still have 1 ovary?: If you still have one ovary and uterus intact, your period should be as usual for you, and yes you should still be ovulating unless postmenopausal. One ovary is enough to make all the hormones you need to have a regular period, but the number of ova (eggs) is reduced to half.

Ovarian pain: Ovarian pain near the start of your period could be related to an ovarian cyst, constipation, or uterine cramping.  Persistent pain should be evaluated by your physician.  Best wishes.

Pain: Well check a pregnancy test first as a late cycle and pain could be from pregnancy either in the uterus or in the tube (ectopic).  This could also be ovulation pain and some pain after from the ovulation site bleeding a bit (hemorrhagic corpus luteum).  There are a few other causes, but start by checking the pregnancy test.

i am 48 years the right ovary shows simple anechonic cyst measuring1.8 cm in the longest dimension....the period stoped from 1 year?

Simple ovarian cyst: I is a simple ovarian cyst that is less than one inch in size. You are probably now post menopausal and as long as the cyst does not grow or produce symptoms then just have your MD re-check it 3 to 6 months again to be certain that it is gone.
