Need to see MD: You did not say what pain killer you have been taking, was it Vicodin? Dilaudid? Oxycontin?  Also did not say how long you were taking these meds.  Common side effect of narcotic  meds is constipation which would tend to cause abdomen pain/bloating,etc.  Pain in the back near the kidneys needs to be evaluated, exam, lab tests esp urinalysis to be sure not having kidney stone or infection. Go see ur Drand get : Checked for kidney problems -blood test,  urinalysis, renal ultrasound may be warranted to confirm kidney infection or disease. Take care!

Go to ER:  Any non traumatic bruising in the abdomen or back area can indicate a peritoneal or retroperitoneal bleed. This is an emergency and should be treated at an ER. The vomiting may also indicate that there is some kind of intestinal involvement.

Left flank pain: May also be constipation, or other colon pathology, if female may be uterine or ovarian pathology.  Pains deserve follow up even small aches are the way our bodies tell us something is amiss.  F/u/ with MD

Hydronephrosis: Tamsulosin is an alpha blocker that's often used to treat benign prostate hyperplasia, as it tends to relax prostate capsule. 5 alpha reductase inhibitors (5ARIs) such as finasteride &amp; dutasteride are used to shrink prostate over 6mo. Inadequately treated BPH can lead to urinary retention and then to hydronephrosis whereby pressure backs up into kidneys. Best to discuss your concerns w/your doc.
