i vomited dec 31,ever since then all the muscles around my rib cage and back have been killing me, i've been using lidocaine patches, aleve, advil, goodies powder, aspirin and a heating pad,its been 18 days of hurting,how long will this last?

: I do not believe your thorax pain is due to vomiting unless broke your rib(s) in the process. You should have a CT scan of the chest done for the correct diagnosis. If CT was done and no abnormality was found, you should see a rheumatologist.

R/O KIDNEY STONE: Flank pain with those symptoms is concerning for kidney stone /bladder stone or kidney infection. You need a full exam labs urine C&amp;S. 24 urine for stone analysis kidney ultrasound or CT.. And usually empiric antibiotic therapy pending the results. Make sure to strain your urine and try to capture any debris , it may be a kidney stone. Push fluids.also get screen for clotting disorders

Doubt bruises: True bruises don't disappear.Hives are an allergic phenomenon that can come up in patches and disappear over several hours.They are usually a deeper skin color than regular skin, but not purple like a bruise.

Doctor can evaluate: A person with chest pain symptoms usually has to go to her doctor (or even to the emergency room) to be checked right away for a heart problems, UNLESS there is another convincing reason for chest pain (decided upon by talking with one's doctor). That means not waiting at home to see if it turns into a more serious condition. As the saying goes, "better safe than sorry".

More info needed: These symptoms are nonspecific and more information about them is needed in order to advise you. A viral infection is a likely possibility. At this time I recommend resting, drinking adequate fluids, avoiding roughage,spicey and greasy foods and taking Tylenol as needed. Diarrhea may ensue. See your MD if symptoms worsen or do not gradually improve.

Pancreatic Cancer: Unfortunately even in this era of tremendous advances in oncology field pancreatic cancer is still a gruesome diagnosis. The most common symptom is jaundice and pain is rather rare and can be associated with very advanced disease with significant weight loss.
Pain is more often associated with pancreatitis and specific tests should be done to rule out inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis).

A few possibilities: This could be (1) musculoskeletal pain (like pulled muscle, broken rib, vertebral compression fracture), (2) kidney pain (like kidney stone or infection), (3) herpes zoster (also called shingles) (4) pleurisy (inflammation of lining around your right lung in that location), (5) and maybe something else not coming to mind right now. You should see your healthcare provider.
