what is the treatment for seizure disorder?

Tx condition, meds.: This must have treatment of the underlying condition, clinical tx. And meds..  Patient is kept in semiprone position, with the head to the side and oxygen given by facemask.  Things like glucose, sodium, calcium, drugs, alcohol must be corrected.  Drugs like Carbamazepine and Phenytoin are given for focal and valproic acid for generalized seizures.  The goal is stop seizures with no side effects.

Not advised!: With good and effective medication there is no reason to go to unscientific, potentially harmfull treatment choices!

Natural: There are little safe and well studies 'natural' epilepsy treatments. None of the anti epileptic medications are truly natural. No herbal remedy truly has epileptic suppression in a way pharmacologically that makes since. Anxiolytics similar to valerian root have some benzodiazepine receptor agonism and therefore could aid in seizure suppression, but this is not recommended.

can small photosensitive epilepsy seizures go away without drugs? i mean if i stop triggering them are they ever gonna stop without need of medical treatment?

Unfortunately NO: You are aware of but one trigger, but there are many more potential stimuli.  Your meds are not needed when no provocative event is present, but that is rare, and on most days the potential for a seizure is far higher.  Your meds are there to keep you stable during the tough times, but hard to predict the future.  Follow your doctor's advice.  Good luck.

i'm currently on epilepsy treatment. and just found out i have pseudoseizures

what medication can i use now? or can i stil continue with current medication? i get my seizures alot more now.

can more than one drug be used for the treatment of epilepsy and seizures?

Yes: Whereas in the past there were only a few drugs, now there are many that can be customized based on risk factors and even the type of seizures.  Older medicines like Depakote and Dilantin are still used, and still work well, but new medications like Keppra (levetiracetam) are becoming the mainstay in treatment for many types of seizures.

No: EEG is a poor predictor  if you did not get a seizure you do not have a seizure disorder.

Unlikely: If you are aware of these events they are more likely psychological rather than neurological.  It would be of value to discuss with your neurologist.  May be side effect of medications, depressive reaction, or new symptom of a complex partial seizure disorder.  Trying to record eeg during a spell would be interesting and useful.

Indirectly : Triggers for seizures are different for different people. For some it can be strobe/flashing
lights,for others high pitched noises. It is posssible that the dizziness caused by your vertigo is a trigger for you. Ask your health care practitioner for info on Epleys manouvres and Serc
