Worst case: If antibiotics for what is believed to be post partum infection of the uterus don't work, the symptoms being treated are either not from an infection, or there are bacteria present and/or the environment in the uterus is such that these antibiotics are not effective. The source of an infection needs to be removed, potentially by way of hysterectomy.

Terbinafine: Oral terbinafine is the most reliable treatment for toenail fungus. It requires a prescription and most drs.Will do some blood work. It still leaves a lot to be desired and toenail fungus has a fairly high recurrence rate.

Antifungal: If you have been previously diagnosed by a doctor with a yeast infection then common anti-fungal vaginal remedies include 1 day, 3 days, 7 days regimens ( monistat, Gyne-Lotrimin etc). These all work well just be sure to complete regimen. Please see your doctor for proper diagnosis if this is your first infection. Take care of yourself.

Different options: Natural approaches to yeast infections: 1. Wear underwear that is cotton vice synthetic 2. If you have a yeast infection avoid wearing underpants when you go to bed at night. 3. Don’t wear tight fitting panties & pantyhose. 4. Use natural tampon/ feminine pads (avoid those which are scented). 5.Avoid douches as well as use of harsh, drying soap on genitalia. 6. Rinse genitalia very well after &gt;&gt;.

hi, i have a candida infection under my armpit that was unresponsive to cortisone treatment. what can i get over the counter now that i am on holiday?

Fungal cream.: Cortisone does not treat fungal infections, and, in fact,can make them much worse. If you use an over the counter fungal med (Like lotrimin (clotrimazole) or nystatin) and the rash does not get better, see a doc for evaluation.  Also avoid fragrances and harsh soaps which cause skin irritation and will add to your problem.  Avoid animal products with antibiotics used in their feed, as well.

No, with exceptions: Typically it is necessary to be treated with antibiotics if a staph infection occurs. However, exceptions include 1) a small abscess that can be easily and completely drained, and 2) an infection that is completely removed from the body such ad an amputation of an infected toe, with only healthy tissue remaining.

Several: There are several over the counter medications specifically used to treat fungal vaginitis - most f them work about 2 out of 3 times.  If you use an otc yeast medication and it doesn't work you should see your doctor to be sure it is in fact yeast - and to get a prescription for an effective treatment.

Shouldn't hurt: It should not hurt you, if you still have symptoms see your doctor to get a correct diagnosis and treatment.
