Bacterial infection: Probiotics help protect against the effects of antibiotics.  If it is truly bacterial, you will nedd prescription antibiotics.  If its fungal, there are many otc options.

Reaction to meds: The only good explanation is a reaction to the medication which is likely called metrogel.  Apply Hydrocortisone cream and if it does not clear up quickly, seek attention.

: Bacterial vaginosis,  A type of bacteria called lactobacillus keeps your vagina slightly acidic so bad bacteria don't grow well. If your lactobacillus levels drop, more bad bacteria move in, and you get BV.  Sexual activity, douching, smoking and antibiotic use can increase risk.  Metronidazole or clindamycin can be used vaginally to treat. A couple of days to clear infection, is common.

: The predominant bacteria of the vagina are lactobacilli. You have staph and strep as the bacteria colonized in your vagina and this colonization can be present in ladies with chronic vaginitis. However, these bacteria are not considered STD bacteria, i.e. contagious. Colonized bacteria sometimes activate and cause active disease, i.e. acute vaginitis.

Too early: This could be vaginal yeast, but it is a little to early to be related to the antibiotics.  It may have existed prior to the "infection" or may have been your primary infection.  Hard to tell.

A number of ways: Most common stds are bacterial, so sexual transmission is one way; alternatively, you can have fecal contamination if fecal matter made its way to the vaginal vault.  Anything that flushes external material into the vagina, such as douching, could lead to a bacterial infection as well.

Absolutely: Anytime you shave you cause micro-cuts in the skin (sometimes large cuts).  This breaks down your bodies first defense against infection.  Additionally the razor I am sure had bacteria on it which you may have introduced directly into the skin.
