i have heard that low fsh levels can be associated with a higher risk of ovarian cancer. why is this?

Yes: You are right. Study by m a mcsorley et al  int j of cancer 2009 aug 1 12593) 674-679  contradicts the  popular belief that higher fsh levels will cause cancer.In this study risk is decreased with higher levels of fsh and lower levels are associated with ovarian cancers  and it is a puzzle to me also , hope one of our expert oncologist will unravel.

i had my hormones checked. my levels for lh and fsh came out low and my oestradiol came out high at 999. could this be an indicator or ovarian cancer?

Not necessarily: Not necessarily true unless there is a granulosa ovarian cell tumor which produces large amounts of estrogen. Ovarian cancer is best diagnosed with an ovarian biopsy and not blood testing and that includes the CA-125 which can be elevated erroneously with Endometriosis.

NO: As a screening marker for ovarian cancer this test is of no use. It can be elevated in women with conditions such as endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, and uterine fibroids  to name a few. Its true utility is in monitoring for cancer recurrence.

how i decrease my high prolactin level to get pregnant .can high prolactin level cause ovarian cancer  i read on net.i am afraid of please advice?

Prolactin production: Is a peptide made in he pituitary.  Levels can be measured to see if yours is abnormally high. It can be raised by nipple stimulation or dysregulated growth that can be found on imaging. While there is medical treatment, you need an endocrinologist to help guide the path.

Talk with your doc: As a gynecologic oncologist, i don't usually follow estrogen as a marker for ovarian cancer. There are a few rare exceptions (granulosa cell tumors). Estrogen is also made in fat cells. You and your wife should have a conversation with her doctor about why they are sending estrogen levels at all. Aromatase inhibitors are a group of drugs that prevent estrogen production and can be used to treat.

Usually none: Only a primary ovarian choriocarcinoma, or some dysgerminomas, will produce hcg.

No: Ovarian cancer is extremely difficult to detect in the early stages. While there are blood tests that are arguably helpful, and a number of ongoing investigations, a CBC will not be helpful.

Growing cells.: Cancer starts when a cell gets damaged and keeps growing. Normal cells grow and divide at different times in life, but then stop. Cancer cells never stop. They don't have an "off"switch. Ovarian cancer is simply an ovarian cell that started dividing and kept going. Over time, the cancer cells gain the ability to invade and move to different places. "CA-124" ?: A "CA-125" level can be elevated from other causes than ovarian origin.  Ask your provider to refer you to a gyn oncologist for a "second opinion".  It is statistically unlikely for a 20 y.o. to have ovarian cancer.

due to stomach symptoms amongst other symptoms my dr tested my ca125 level & it came back at 141, my doctor is referring me for an ultrasound. i feel v nervous it could be a cancer? are my chances of it being ovarian cancer low due to my age? im 32?

High ca125: There are nonmalignant pelvic causes of an elevated ca125 in addition to ovarian cancer. If you have a family history of ovarian cancer or have the BRCA 1 or BRACA 2 genes, you have a higher risk for ovarian cancer. I trust you have an experienced gynecologist supervising &amp; interpreting your testing results so that you will receive an accurate diagnosis, appropriate care&amp; any needed consultants
