Rephrase: Look at it this way. Is a possible contusion from the seat belt restraining you in a crash better or worse than dying or breaking multiple bones (especially since you have osteoporosis).  Everything has a risk but which is manageable and less severe?

FOr eyes: Ocuvite is for the eyes. It does nothing for osteoporosis. There is different treatment for that disorder. Check w/your doctor.

Total of 1500 mg: Generally, your total calcium intake (diet + supplements) should be about 1, 500 mg, taken with meals in divided doses. You also need about 2000 units of vitamin d3/day. Check with you physician to make sure there isn't a contraindication to either of these meds. Most importantly, saftyproof you house and life, and avoid falls and trauma.

Very low LS T-score: A lumbar spine T-score of -6.0 is extremely low, but is difficult to interpret before menopause because the scoring system was designed for postmenopausal women.  Young women with a family history of osteoporosis and/or with anorexia nervosa can have T-scores this low.  Fortunately, peak (highest) bone mass is not reached until your early 30s, so your bone density can improve with weight gain.

Depends: That frustrating comment that many exercise shows and most exercise programs say ' please see your doctor prior to beginning any exercise routine' is so true.  It would be hard to answer your question without knowing your health status, the extent of your osteoporosis, and other pertinent factors about you. Please ask your doctor what would be safe for you to do.

Varies: First, be sure you are getting enough calcium and vitamin d because no treatment will work if you do not have enough of these. After that, it depends on your general health and if you have ever received any treatment in the past. If you already have a 'collapsing spine', you would be best to see a specialist who is an endocrinologist or rheumatologist that treats osteoporosis for an expert opinion.

See details: I assume you mean transient osteoporosis of the hip. This is usually seen in the third trimester of pregnancy or in older males. It is a diagnosis of exclusion. It resolves over several months. Its cause is unknown.

exercsise: These are both great exercises. You can do a cross training program  with bicycling and walking on alternated days. Add in some weight training and you have the perfect knee program.

Controversial: Vit D at 16 probably not significant. Talk to your Dr. about meds for osteoporosis Best source of calcium is DIET. OTC Vit D3 1000 u is a common daily supplement. INQUIRE about bisphosphonates and SERMS. Get a lot of exercise.
