how is osteomalacia diagnosed?

Osteomalacia: Osteomalacia is abnormal bone formation leading to softening of the bones.  Abnormal bowing and increased fracture risk result.  It is usually, but not always, due to vit D deficiency.  There are multiple causes of vit D deficiency.  Diagnosis based on clinical history, blood and urine tests, and characteristic X-ray findings.  Sometimes bone biopsy may be necessary.

Lots more pluses: Than minuses.  See your doctor, get a diagnosis and therapy prescription and go.  The results are correlated to how much work you put in, and compliance with your home exercise program.  It's also been shown that having faith in your therapist will improve your outcome.

See below: Chest pt is usually performed by a respiratory therapist. It's purpose is to mobilize secretions that may be accumulating in the lungs. It involves deep breathing exercises, nebulizer treatments as well as various drainage procedures enhanced by moderate rhythmic tapping on the ribcage with the patient tilted somewhat upside down to get deep secretions out towards the mouth.

Stretching and PT: Many times acute sciatic pain will resolves after stretching the area abit.  The muscles will loosen up and help resolve pain.  If not, then consider further imaging studies to see which exact nerve in your spine is getting pinched for further treatment options. Physical therapy is often the first line treatment along with conservative care administered as well.

Question not clear: Its unclear what your question is. However there is a strong positive relationship between physical activity and heart health. However if you have a cardiac problem, then what you may need is cardiac rehab instead of plain physiotherapy.

Yes: Partial thickness(articular or bursal sided)rotator cuff tears esp. In someone only 27 yrs.Old may respond to a rotator cuff strengthening program.... If pain or weakness ( or instability, possibly) worsen than arthroscopic  debridement or repair(depending on the thickness of the tear) can be performed in conjunction w/ decompression or capsular plication. See an experienced shoulder specialist.

No, not at all: Osteomalacia is weak bones due to calcium and vitamin-D deficiency  It is easy to control it with above medicines. it is entirely benign and does not cause Cancer.

Need both: Teenagers need at least1200 mg of calcium/d,  which is equivalent to 4 dairy servings or a combination of dairy and supplemental pills.  If you do not get an average of 30 minutes of sun exposure daily, you should also supplement Vitamin D, as 70% of people in the northern US states have been found to be deficient. Vit D is needed for bones to use calcium.  Whole grains are in breads, cereals, etc

heard conflicting advise on calcium dosage for men. what is optimum dose if i have diabetes, osteoperosis & osteomalacia but normal calcium levels?

Don't take calcium: You need to take sufficient vitamin d from sun or supplements to be in the high side of normal. This may require as much as 10, 000 units of vitamin d3 a  day.  Do not take  calcium supplements. All healthy unprocessed food contains calcium and all the other necessary minerals like magnesium.And zinc that you need. Small doses of zinc blocks osteoclasts. Cadmium plays a role in all these problems.
