Pain: Your healthcare providers need to work in coordination w/one another.  Please make sure they communicate.  Also consider behavioral interventions such as biofeedback or clinical hypnosis (www.asch.net) as long as you have a proper diagnosis and providers are ok w/it.  Peace and good health.

As seen above since 2015 all physical  therapists need  to  have a doctorate ( i.e. doctor of physical  therapy). . Sometimes a PTA- physical  therapist assistant works under the physical therapist doing the exercises with patients.

See details: It means you are compressing that nerve root resulting in radicular pai aka sciatica.  I will generally treat this with a tapering course of prednisone. If that does not help, I would consider PT or targeted injections.
