why do i get sick after drinking orange juice? is this an allergy?

Not necessary: Allergy to oranges (including juice) can present as itching, hives, wheezing, vomiting, diarrhea and less likely anaphylaxis.  If symptoms are limited to stomach upset only, it may be only a food intolerance possibly related to the acidity.  If a person can tolerate a small amount, but GI symptoms with larger amounts, this supports an intolerance.  Either way, if it bothers a person, avoid.

when i drink guava, litchi and orange juice, it causes me to cough for a while. could this be an allergy?

Not Likely: Given your description is doesn't sound like a typical allergic reaction which usually includes one or more of the following within minutes to 2 hours of ingestion: hives, itching, swelling, shortness of breath, wheeze, vomiting, or passing out. Sometimes drinking cold beverages can cause a coughing fit in some people. See an Allergist for further workup and evaluation if concerned.

i have a cold and also a huge craving for orange juice. would orange juice treat my symptoms?

Not particularly: Fluids and rest are great for colds.  If you like orange juice, go ahead.  It can upset the stomach if too much is taken in due to the acidic nature of the juice.  It is a good form of vitamins especially vitamin c.  It may or may not help your cold, but if you think it does, have at it.  The craving?  Be careful.  Lots of sugar in oj.  Water is good & take vit c tablets for the same sans sugar!

hi, i feel urine in my urethra and i feel sometimes a urge to urinate but nothing comes out when i drink orange juice my symptoms get much much worse also chocolate i did a cystoscopy and ultrasound was normal please help??

Urinary urge: You don't mention whether there is some burning on urination or what your urologist thinks is the problem. I assume urine cultures are negative for infection. Low grade nonbacterial urethritis or prostatic congestion and/or mild inflammation are possibilities that cause urge, but your urologist is best to answer your questions and advise you. In the meantime avoid caffeine and acidic drinks.

Orange juice, more that oranges, is very high sugar & sugar drives obesity, diabetes mellitus, cv ds, high blood pressure. Allergies are behavioral responses, under internal control, occurring for any combination & variety of reasons, always self-diagnoses not doctors.

Yes: It can promote cavity forming bacteria to live in the mouth. These bad guys live at the base of the bacteria pyramid and are hard to get rid of.

Missing the protein.: That's a good start - fruit, vitamins and complex carbohydrates. What you're missing is a good source of complete protein, like low fat yogurt, egg whites or even low fat milk. Protein would make this a complete meal.  There's protein I. Some sources like bran, but it's not a complete protein so it wouldn't get absorbed efficiently.

Orange juice: Probably because you like it but a gallon a day is far too much. 
Have you given any thought to why you take so much OJ? 
Are you having to urinate several times a day?

I suggest that you take your orange juice no more than twice a day (glass full, not a gallon) and if you are thirsty take water.

Frequent urination from too much liquid is not good for you!

i ate a whole organic orange , skin and all and now i have bad hives. i can drink orange juice no problems. what is in the skin i'm allergic to ?

The peel?: Rarely, people may be allergic to an allergen present in the peel and not the "meat" of the fruit.  If your have only reaction to organic orange, then one will need to consider what has been used to grow and treat the orange when grown "organically".
