: It might not be 'jock itch' for you have not responded to the usual traetmen. Suggest consult at a reputable academic center. In the meantime you can try OTC Sulphur ointment to the  area. good luck

ive had chronic recurrence of ringworm for 3/4 yrs now.it reappears in the same places about 3 months after oral meds. nothing wrong w/my immune.tests hv shown pos for fungus.doc just prescribed oral itraconazole again.is this problem a danger for me?

: Tinea corporis, known as ringworm, often responds well to 3-4 week topical therapy, e.g., OTC Clotrimazole.  Skin fungus infection is more of annoyance than a serious health issue.

i've had resistant ringowrm for a long time. it clears up with oral terbinafine but comes back. dermatologist now ordered itraconazole tabs 100mg 2x daily for 14 days. i can't recall if she told me to pulse dose? she's out for the week so i cant ask?

: I would follow the instructions on the medication label. If the dermatologist wanted to you take the medication in a certain way, she would have changed the instructions there.

Yes: There does not appear to be a contraindication which is related to this particular medication.  Alcohol in the blood stream has some negative effects on white blood cell actions, and if you are being treated for infection, theoretically it is not a good idea to inhibit WBC activities (but this is probably inconsequential).

can someone tell me details about the rash associated with a severe allergic reaction to itraconazole? please! i'm clawing my flesh off!

CAN HAPPEN NEEDS RX: Yes you can develop rash due to allrgy to itraconazole and if you have developed this allergic rash it will need to be treated with antihistamines and if severe short course of steroids
consult your doctor and get treated or if you can not wait go to er.

is sporanox (itraconazole) a good or bad medicine for fungi?

It is one of the med: It is not good or bad but it is a useful anti fungal antibiotic which can be used for nail fungus of finger and toe nails and yeast infections.

is it okay to use topical micoconazole along with itraconazole capsules for ringworm? also, capsules say take with meal. what constitutes a meal? today, i took my pills 9 hrs apart instead of 12 to take with meal. should i take 12hrs apart? thanks?

: Take with a meal means to take with some food in your stomach and not to take when your stomach is empty.  I would like your pharmacist to answer the rest of your question.

prescribed itraconazole capsules. label says take 1 capsule 2x daily with a meal. my mornings are hectic. my meals are at 11:30 am and 7:00 pm. should i take these with a snack only @12 hours apart? or is it okay to take with meals 7 1/2 hours apart?

: Take medication with some foods is fine, not absolutely necessary with a full meal.
