Cervical spine: This is a complicated matter indeed.  Often get instability above and below the bones that were fused.  The main question to ask is whether you are now having symptoms that can be reasonably located to those sites.  If you have tried steroids and therapy without relief, surgery may be the only option, but always worth getting another opinion.  Also, find the best therapist and travel if you must.

D/W therapist: If you think you have ptsd &  therapist dx"ed you with anxiety disorder nos - then you are  both on a simliar track. If you think you have major depressiona &  therapist says dysthymia, you are still on the right  track. Part of our job as therapists is to educate patients about their diagnosis. Consider asking your therapist about what diagnosis criteria you met or about psychological testing.

Maybe: Ceragem (acupressure massage) might help heal a disc injury, but there aren't any good studies showing its benefit in double blind studies.  The skeptic in me is concerned when i hear claims that it can help other conditions like asthma and diabetes. It probably won't hurt, but healing might be occurring anyway.

are there any disadvantages to pellet therapy for testosterone? i'm wondering why my endocrinologist didn't mention them as an option.

Yes!: There's no such thing as a free lunch, so yes, there are disadvantages to pellet therapy for testosterone replacement. 1st it's an invasive procedure (so if you don't like getting stuck w/needle, you won't like idea of trochar). 2nd greater risk of infection, pain &amp; extrusion 3rd we can only guess how much you need based upon weight etc - so it's difficult to adjust if necessary eg more/less pelle

Biofeedback can: be helpful for muscle pain as well as for the anxiety and depression seen in your history.  It is natural and non-invasive and can empower you to manage these conditions w/out the machines eventually.  Peace and good health. Cervical Stenosis: The most common need for decompression therapy is for those whose spine has, over a long time from, developed bony protrusions called osteophytes in and around the outside of the spinal cord and the holes that the nerves come out of. This is a natural aging process, but in some it can press on the neves and cause pain. Decompression does just that- opens up room for the nerves.

Traction: It is essentially traction of the spine. It is meant to pull the spine segments apart so that the disc might heal.  There are many ways to accomplish this including physical therapy techniques, specialized machines often used by chiropractic, and inversion tables.  There are no good studies on any but the techniques may have some benefit. Inversion is likely the cheapest.
