Bleeding: Try taking a qtip and pressing it onto the wound with a good amount of pressure, holding it there for 2 min without removing the pressure, while laying somewhat flat. If this doesnt work, your doctor should see you to stop the bleeding with either a silver nitrate stick, a handheld electrocautery tool, or use of lidocaine with epinephrine. Sometimes cold application (ice pack) will help.

Possible: Depends on whether the vaginal fluid has HIV and how well the cut has healed.  Usually the wound is considered well healed after 6 weeks absent any complication such as wound infection.

Difficult to say: Without visualizing the area and cut its hard to say.  The first thing to do however is get. Some antibiotic ointment on it and see a doc.

Vaginal blister:pain: At age 21, the blister is not likely to be caused by "friction", unless very prolonged sexual activity has depleted natural lubrication.  Even with "one sexual partner" , if that partner has had other sexual experiences, it may be a viral ulcer (blister).  This may persist for a week or so, and if it does, you should see a physician for tests to be done.

i recently shaved my vagina a few days later i notice it was irritated and now it has become worst because its like and open wound  red and bleeds alil i have used monistat chafing cream and recently bought vagisil but it burn what can use to help?

Stop shaving: First of all, don't shave, and if you must - use an electric trimmer. This will help avoid tiny cuts in your skin caused by a razor. Hair is there for a reason - it protects the delicate skin of the vulva. Vagisil is a horrible product that contains a harsh chemical - benzocaine - that will cause more irritation. The best thing to do is warm compresses, loose-fitting clothes, let it heal.

Staph: I cannot be sure, but a painful skin lesion with swollen lymph nodes near by very well could be the very dangerous staph (known as mrsa).  It must be seen and treated urgently.

Now as an aside there are twelve stds. What ones were you tested for?

Irritation: How long has the cut been open for?  Certainly, wearing a pad for over a month can cause skin irritations and ulcers.  Have you tried using a tampon?  This may not be your preferred choice, but if it fixed your problem, then you have your answer.  If it does not, then see your doctor.  You may have an infection or skin lesion that requires biopsy.

is it ok to start upper body exercises 1 year after open cut unguinal hernia surgery.the area is still bit sore and i have ocasonal  discmfrt & pain?

Accepted Answer

Healing: is probably complete after one year.  Surgical site will not get any stronger, so you can probably resume normal activity, barring any complication.  Consult with your surgeon just to be sure.  Occasional discomfort is probably caused by scar tissue.

Various ways: To close an opened wound. It depends on the size depth area involved. Most of my wounds i see are sutured closed. Check your tetanus status.
