Pinched nerve: Each nerve in the back supplies only one part of the body with feeling and motor control.  See this link for more explantation:

the shorter answer is no; a pinched nerve will not affect the whole side of the body.  But....That could happen in the spinal cord, or in the brain.  You should consider consulting a neurologist.

Numbness: It is not possible to diagnose or suggest adequate therapy without adequate history and physical examination. However, your symptoms may alert your physician of either brain or spinal cord problem. At your age, a myelin disorder is a possibility. I suggest you discuss your symptoms with your physician to asses the need of further testing with an MRI of brain or spinal cord. Hope you feel better.

Are you an Athlete?: How did the pain begin? have you exerted recently or fallen down? Try taking Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen 3/day for at least 3 days for symptomatic relief. If not associated with Fever, skin lesions, Arthritis- this sounds like  Muscular pain. Cannot diagnose the cause with the information you gave. If it has been more than 2 weeks duration and not responding to OTC meds, you should see your PCP.
