Possible Thrush: Your infant may have thrush, and your Pediatrician can prescribe a medication to treat this condition. Does the baby also have a diaper rash? Is there a fever?

Not particularly : Babies have no social conscience and as such they have no personal reason not to drool if/when they feel like it. Increases may represent irritation within the mouth but it is also normal. She will decide to swallow her drool as she gets older.

is it safe to use benzethonium chloride (such as wet ones wipe) on 1-month old infant boy's face? he got acne and dr suggested antibacterial soap, but it was hard to apply. i am thinking of using just water and then wipe with wet one without rinse.

Maybe, but why...: Why look at it that way? Maybe it has nothing to do with bacteria. Babies have no bacteria before birth. In vaginal deliveries, babies are coated with Mom's vaginal and poop bacteria (is nature's design). Note that C-section babies miss this oppornity. Babies must get natural bacterial to have normal health. After birth, a baby's hormonal balance changes, which is in part responsible for rashes.

Baby with choking: For a month old baby, please see your doctor for a good history and physical.   This may be normal or serious and deserves expert evaluation.  Your doctor may suggest medication, positioning, or even a change in diet.  Meanwhile, keeping your baby upright may be helpful.

No: Pediatricians consider greater than or equal to 100.4 to be fever in a child less than one year of age.  It is important to take the temperature recatally as this will give you the most accurate body temperature location.

Unlikely diagnosis: All infants have a system designed to maximize growth while minimizing energy loss. This shows up when their uncovered fingers/toes/ears  become pale or bluish in a room where the temperature is below their body temperature. If placed in a warm tub these structures blush immediately. It is not Raynaud's but their design to avoid heat loss. It fades as they become older/bulkier.

See Doctor: Some sensitivity to the milk, may need tests on stools and change in milk.

Could be: The first thing I would want to make sure is that your child is gaining weight appropriately and thriving.  If that is the case, there are numerous things that could be of help, such as different formulas.  That decision can be best made with your child's doctor who will know what formula your child is and/or has been on.  Good luck.

Would NEVER use them: Nasal congestion in a 1 mo is a combination of tiny nasal passages &amp; their normal reaction to inhaled irritants. Dust, smoke, fragrance, hair spray, etc. all make infants more congested than adults. Proper care includes washing these out with nasal saline &amp; suctioning the remainder. Chemicals in this drop strangle capillaries &amp; do little if anything for babies. I NEVER use them under 3yr.
