Up to 5 wks: It is difficult to determine the exact duration prozac will stay in the system, because people metabolize prozac at different rates.  The longest it would probably stay in the system is 5 wks, (this is the "safe" washout time when there is no risk for drug interaction with MAO inhibitors.). Prozac has a half life of 7-9 days (pretty large margin there). but that does not mean it is out in 14-18 d.

2 x 10mg = 20 mg: Yes, taking 2 of the 10mg Prozac (fluoxetine) would = 20mg.  Please talk with your doctor about raising the dose back to 20mg, and s/he can best advise you.  If s/he prescribed 10mg, your prescription will run out sooner when you're actually taking twice as much.

Prozac (fluoxetine): Prozac (fluoxetine) has long half-life, but some withdrawal can still occur within 3-7 days of discontinuing the medication.

Alcohol: Alcohol is a no no with psychiatric medications for the most part. It does make it less effective. Alcohol is a depressant so it can worsen depression. Alcohol is always stronger then the medicine.

Speak to prescriber: The way to get of a medication is discussing it with your prescriber so they can monitor for any problems.  Prozac is very long acting , different from many other medications when stopping prozac you just stop it.  I is so long acting that it effectively self tapers.
