Try acid reducer: Try taking ranitidine or Famotidine in addition to the prilosec, or temporarily take Prilosec 2x per day.   Of course watch your intake of hot, spicy, acidic foods.  For immediate relief try calcium carbonate (tums), sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), or Gaviscon which is otc and may help coat and sooth your esophagus.  Peptones-bismol can help too.

Surgery?: Are you talking about cholecystectomy (gallbladder surgery), I am assuming this is the case because usually it is followed by post-cholecystectomy syndrome, taking such medications for acidity indicates there is something serious needs to be taking care of with possibility of gastric ulcer.

No Peptobismol: Peptobismol has Aspirin like products in it.  Discuss with your ob/gyn sucking on raw ginger root for pregnancy related issues.  Careful with the prilosec. If you have taken for a while, it can lead to vitamin B12 deficiency.  Might consider having B12 levels checked.

however, this does not necessarily mean no interactions exist. Always consult with your doctor or pharmacist.

Yes..: ..Although the pepto bismol (bismuth subsalicylate) may slightly decrease the absorption and thus effectiveness of the omeprazole, i'd take the Omeprazole first, on an empty stomach, and then the other 2 thirty minutes alter.

Try an otc PPI: THere are now over the counter (OTC) Proton pump inhibitors (PPI) medications that can help out with acid reflux.  They do not require a prescription.

You can try over the counter omeprazole (Prilosec) or esomeprazole (Nexium)

gastritis/food poisoning what to take and eat.  i believe i ate seafood last friday which caused this.  i've been taking tylenol, pepto, prilosec?

Food poisoning : Since last Friday after eating seafood it is probably a food poisoning. If you have diarrhea that suggest food poisoning since you do not get diarrhea with gastritis. If there is blood in a loose stool you need a culture from the stool. Food poisoning goes away on its own  within days to weeks. See your doctor for an evaluation.
