Severe diarrhea : How long is he suffering from diarrhea?  If this  is an on going problem , he needs work up to make a proper diagnosis,  but if it is only for few days then you can modify his diet,  eliminate all dairy products for 2-3 days,  give him plain bread, rice, pasta, boiled or baked potatoes,  apples, bananas, soup, crackers farina, keep him well hydrated, introduce regular diet gradually . Fever/diarrhea: Most often this is caused by a virus. We rarely give any medicines to slow the diarrhea or keep the pathogen inside. If there is blood, a peculiar odor to the stool or the baby is otherwise sick, he may require stool samples and blood work. All the best.

Probiotic: Bifilac is a probiotic which restores the normal bacteria in the gut. Children who have infectious diarrhea or some inflammatory diarrhea will have altered flora in the gut which can be changed back to normal with probiotics. This mediation will help with diarrhea but not immediately. And medication that stop diarrhea immediately are not advised and  may not be safe for children with infections.

Virus or allergies: I am thinking loose stools is what you mean, and no fever or vomiting?   Has he started solids, or changed his diet recently? Loose stools are often a sign of food sensitivity.  If you have just switched him to dairy formula or are trying out new foods, try to eliminate them one at a time to see if he returns to normal.  If not, follow up with your doc.

: Leave the kid alone. The poop color originates in the ultra green bile added in transit. It goes through greens to yellows to browns depending on time inside and germ action. Green suggests it went through faster than otherwise. In an otherwise normal acting infant it is normal. You don't treat normal.

GASTROENTERITIS..: Most common cause is viral, self limiting, gets better in 3-7 days. As long as s/he is drinking enough and peeing 4-6 times daily, not to worry. Give pedialyte equal amount for each diarrhea or vomiting, bananna, rice, applesauce, chicken, soup, crackers, yogurt.

Teething doesn't : Cause fever or diarrhea. The most likely causes are a viral illness or, possibly, a food intolerance. If he appears ill, see your pediatrician. To avoid cavities, wipe out his teeth & mouth with a soft cloth after feeds, especially before you put him to bed drowsy, but awake, to learn to fall asleep on his own. Take him for his 1st visit to a pediatric dentist now or by his 1st birthday.

Rather not.: Though gripe water is safe and contains only tested herbs, i would recommend you not give it to your baby at this time.  The baby has new loose stools for a reason -illness, infection, food allergies.  I suggest a doctor's visit to sort out why he is having these symptoms and then to treat them appropriately.

Fluoroquinolones are contraindicated during pregnancy due to the risk of spontaneous abortions and birth defects. The fluoroquinolones have also been reported as being present in the mother’s milk and are passed on to the baby.
