Pinched vein.: Nutcracker syndrome (ncs) is caused by a compression of the left renal vein between the aorta and the superior mesenteric artery. This pinching raises venous pressure on the left side and can lead to high venous pressure in the renal pelvis, ureter, and gonadal vein. Those can cause discomfort as well.

Left renal vein.: The Nutcracker Syndrome is due to compression of the left renal vein between the aorta and the superior mesenteric artery. These two arteries serve as a nutcracker compressing the left renal vein between them.  The symptoms are usually back and flank pain, blood in the urine and abdominal pain.  If you have this problem, a CTA of the abdominal arteries will make the diagnosis.

: No, diaphragm tenting is different from elevated diaphragm. Tenting means peaked or tented appearance of a hemidiaphragm which can occur in the setting of lobar collapse or after a partial lung resection (lobectomy) or it can be a normal variation in some people, i.e. you are born with that (a congenital condition).

does having retroartic left renal vein usually mean you have nutcracker syndrome, especially when you have many symptoms? or can you have rlrv without ncs? also does having abdominal surgery i.e gallbladder surgery affect rlrv?

: Retroartic left renal vein is rare, but means the left renal vein lies behind the aorta, which compresses the left renal vein leading to backup, higher venous pressure, and can cause frequent bloody urine, and "nutcracker syndrome" which is a description of increased aortic compression of the renal vein, much like a blood pressure cuff when measuring blood pressure.

Cause is underlying : The nutcracker syndrome does not usually cause BP and heart rate variations, but I noticed u have cardiolipin antibodies which can lead to autoimmune disorders and can cause blood clots. U definitely need an ECHO=ultrasound of u'r heart and further testing by ur primary doctor and even a rheumatologist

i have a nutcracker syndrome which causes blood in urine and horrible kidney pain. i had a surgery.recently i have been having terrible pain in my bladder symptoms but antibiotics are not helping. i am on morphine and a blood thinner  and macrobid.

Urologist: Not quite sure of your question, but if you have a urological problem and the urologist has recently performed surgery then you need to let him or her know about your issues.

Imaging: A contrasted CT is better than a non-contrasted CT for NCS. Make a CD of the images and see a vascular surgeon. Your surgeon will decide what kind of imaging they need to help you decide what to do.
