i went from 125 pounds to 113 in a week due to my lap. appendectomy. how do i gain all my weight back so i'm not severely unhealthy ? i'm 5'11 .

Patience: Physicians are always surprised by this question. There is nothing wrong with you. And one would never ever want to force or add burden to a healing body.  Time and returning to normal is how this will happen, please be patient with your body. Take care of yourself.  Do not eat unhealthily just to feel that you are making a normal process go faster.

i had lap appendectomy two weeks ago my incision is healed but my incision has a bump under it??

Post op appendectomy: If the 'bump' is not red,  painful or oozing fluid then its probably just some scar tissue around a stitch under the skin. Some scarring is normal and usually gets a bit better over time.  Obviously you should go back to the surgeon and have it examined.

2 weeks after my lap appendectomy, i feel back to myself. if i try exercising, would there be pain if my fascial incisions weakened or reopened?

Yes : I would wait a full month to resume vigorous activity after the surgery to allow for healing.

had a lap appendectomy 5 1/2 weeks ago. when can i go back to my high intensity interval training? i'm in good health. not over weight, i feel lazy.

Varies: It is best to ask your own surgeon, as different doctors have differing recommendations. As long as you are well and without complications, I recommend my patients to start to return to normal activities and exercises about 2 weeks after uncomplicated laparoscopic surgery.

4 weeks tomorrow since lap appendectomy. i lifted some heavy grocery bags and carried them upstairs. it slipped my mind. is it okay or should i worry?

Lap Appy: I have performed many a lap Appy. From what you have shared it sounds like if there was something to be worried about it would have definitely shown up. I would say that you are safe, though I would add that you should keep an eye on the area to ensure that there is no hernia tigon, which would demonstrate its prescience with a bulge. Essentially you are fine and I would say be careful.

can i use stairs immediately after lap appendectomy?

Your surgeon: I don't believe climbing stairs would be a problem after an uncomplicated lap. appendectomy. The surgeon who performed your procedure is best qualified to advise you about any restrictions in your physical activities.

is it okay to swim less than a month after got an lap appendectomy ?

Usually yes: I tell my patients to return to normal activity as tolerated by pain and discomfort. Use common sense, and listen to your body. You can always call your surgeon to find out for sure. Hope this helps!

Talk to your doc!: Seriously! talk to the surgeon who did your surgery and ask him/her what you need to do. S/he is responsible for your care, not some anonymous doctor across the pacific! typically, i always tell my patients to ask questions before surgery about complications, etc. But i suspect your appendectomy was emergent so you probably didn't have much time. Bottom line: go ask your surgeon.

??: Do you mean are you at increased risk of gallbladder problems after appendectomy. ?  Not that I'm aware of ?

i have had a lap appendectomy and it is oozing and i can see  fatty tissue. with a slight touch on the side it spreads. is it normal and what do i do?

See your surgeon: It sounds as if your wound has opened up.  Call your surgeons office (hospital surgeons still have outpatient clinics as well typically) to be re-examined.  They will usually fit you in right away, but this must be seen asap (ie call first thing in am tommorow).
