: HSV-1 or 2 can cause localized infections in the mouth/lips or on the genitals. It is more inconvenience than a threat. It is from a family of DNA viruses that can hibernate after the primary infection clears and recur at the same location on multiple occasions. An oral hickey on the chest will not cause any transfer of the germ to the recipient &amp; trigger oral or genital herpes.

Depends: I'd really like to see how your baby's growth has progressed in order to answer this! If you could input a height and weight it will  help! Seedy stools are perfectly fine.  As for the throwup, it depends.  Is this a small amount of spitup with each feeding in a baby who is chunky and well grown, happy, and a mom with a robust milk supply? Or is this a baby with painful feedings and poor growth?

See pediatrician: The baby needs to be properly evaluated by her pediatrician. Vomiting and crying can be from anything in a baby her age ... From a little acid reflux , to sepsis. She needs immediate attention by her Doc or a visit to ER.

Please see doctor: I think the simple answer is a yes, 'but answer.  This sounds like a significant situation that must be fully studied. I am sure your pediatrician can help and even recommend a specialist for pediatric gastroenterology. Please do not just give your daughter stool softeners without a full evaluation and diagnosis of the underlying problem.

Can ask: You will need to ask your doctor why this specific test was done. There may have been a reason in your unique circumstance. An HSV IGM would not provide information about exposure in the past. It is test looking for recent infection &lt; 6 weeks ago. It is also not a particularly accurate test.  An HSG IGG is the test for past exposure.

i am a nurse. i ve got needle pricked form a newborn baby with a serology result anti-hsv-2 igg positive. am i at risk? thank you!

This is: indication of ANTIBODIES to HSV 2 IgG more than likely due to MATERNAL immunity!!! NO RISK for you! BTW MY OPINION ONLY you should REPORT this exposure to your Infection Control Nurse....(as with ANY exposure)

Type of Herpes Test: Hi Ryan - Sometimes a yeast infection and a Herpes or HSV infection can cause similar symptoms of irritation in the genital area.  The nurse is being cautious and helping make sure that Herpes is not the cause of the irritation. There are two types of HSV, HSV 1 and HSV 2. A reflex test asks the laboratory to determine which type of HSV it is only if EITHER type of HSV is detected to begin with.

Put down the computer. Pick up the phone. Call a general practitioner to begin the diagnostic process.

the other day i got poop on my underwear and jeans, and after i saw i washed them out in the sink with hand soap and water, but theres still a spot of poop on the jeans. can i throw them in the washer like that, or do i need to wash them out more?

: If you did a good job of hand washing -then there are practically no infectious organism left- only the discoloration- so yes- you can wash them in the machine
