cancer runs in my family . i went to the er for numbness in the middle of my spine would randomly would get worse. i also had no energy what so ever . i was confused if i was feeling this way to do an illness or because i stopped taking xanex 2mg?

: It is not feasible to provide an opinion without additional history, physical examination may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor to see if you may be depressed. Depression is treatable. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated. Drink more water. Wish you good health!

Number of things: from a radiculopathy to a syrinx. I would suggest you have this checked out as it suggests you have something going on in your spine that is affecting your nerves on that side. Will need MRI to be sure. I wouldn't let this go without getting it checked out sooner than later.

Muscle tension: Really, nothing to speak of causes only numbness in the lower spine. All i would surmise would be spasms/tension that could conceivably cause only numbness along with tightness. Address the muscle spasm with stretching, ice/heat, salonpas hot patches, core exercises, and the rest should subside.

Yes: Cervical radiculopathy is where a pinched nerve in the neck causes pain, weakness, or numbness in the limbs.  The neck commonly goes to different parts of the hand depending on the specific nerve.

Radiculopathy: This sounds like it is most likely to be cervical radiculopathy which results from a pinched nerve in the neck. This requires orthopedic evaluation. There are other much rarer causes, and an orthopedist or a neurologist visit can help.

i have been getting numbness and tingling in my back along my spine. no pain now but had pain in upper back over weekend. could this be caused by a weekend of continuous heavy lifting and standing which was work i wasn't used to? very worried?

: Physical activity that you are not used to could result in your symptoms. You may take acetaminophen to help with the pain, no more than 4 g in a day, no alcohol. Warm compresses may help. If it does not relieve in couple of days, see a doctor, Regular aerobic exercise will assist in the long term. Raising core body temperature through exercise strengthens the muscles and make those more flexible.

If this is the leg-: -that was involved with you having back surgery, this is not uncommon, but if it's a new symptom,let your surgeon know right away.

Change position: This is not unusual in the 3rd trimester! You have to find out what position triggers the tingling and/or numbness and learn how to avoid that particular position for the rest of your pregnancy!
