No: If the question is, can a torn rotator cuff cause numbness in the fingers, then the answer is no.  Numbness is caused by neurologic pathology such as carpal tunnel syndrome, a herniated disk, cubital tunnel syndrome.  Best to have your numbness evaluated by your physician.

No, neck more likely: A rotator cuff tear will cause weakness and localized pain in and around the shoulder. Cervical neck pain resulting from local nerve compression, however, can cause numbness down in to the fingers, as can any peripheral compression of the nerves along the pathway from the cervical spine along the nerve course to the fingers.

i had a nerve blocker administered yesterday for rotator cuff repair. my ankle and foot have been numb since, should i be concerned?

Call doctor: Speak with your surgeon about this and/or call the anesthesiologist who did the block. This is an unusually occurrence and may be coincidental . It requires evaluation.

Possible/unlikely: If there is a significant amount of swelling around the nerves that pass through to the arm and hand, a rotator cuff tear could cause those symptoms.  It is far more likely that a nerve is being pinched- either in the neck or tight muscles around the neck/shoulder.  A physiatrist can diagnose and treat these conditions.

Uncertain:   These may be two separate issues. But now It could come from carpel tunnel, or a C7 injury.I don't think it's related to your rotator cuff injury

Cuff repair rehab: Tough to answer in 400 characters. However, goal of rotator cuff repair is to get torn tendon to heal to the proximal humerus. Best results correlate with healed repair. Therefore, proceed slowly and carefully. If rehab is aggressive, risk of repair not healing. Expect 6+ month recovery.

Check with surgeon: I would see the surgeon who operated on you to diagnose if it is "spasm" and maybe s/he will advise physical therapy &amp;/or muscle relaxant.Best wishes.

my wrist has been slightly swollen and extremely painful since the day after my rotator cuff repair surgery, 2 months ago. how long can this last?

Swollen wrist.: You had a rotator cuff repair 2 months ago.  You have a swollen wrist on the same side with pain.  See your doctor who performed the surgery.  If entire arm is swollen then ask for an ultrasound to rule out clot.  If pain is the main thing then ask about if arm was in sling during surgery and if physical therapy may be of benefit.  Your doctor will want to know and help you.
