i fell onto my right knee and kneecap is numb. calf and foot are not numb. knee is very bruised but still has full range of motion. treatment advice?

Tincture of time: It generally takes 2-3 wks for bruising to resolve.  The numbness is likely due to the swelling and will probably improve  as the swelling goes down.  The bruising will probably extend down the leg before it completely resolves.

See a doctor: There could be many reasons. Circulation problems, stroke, neurologic or muscular conditions or low back problems such as a stenosis and herniated disk could cause your symptoms. See an orthopedist urgently or go to an emergency room.

Calldoctor: You need to ask your orthopedic/or doctor that order the physical therapy to answer this question because they know your condition. However, therapy should not cause any numbness afterwards.

Yes: Some types of knee arthroscopy can be performed under local anesthesia with adequate sedation. But a discussion with the surgeon and anesthesiologist is required and at times during the surgery it must be converted to a general anesthic if the procedure is not being tolerated or the relaxation of the knee is not enough.

It could be a lot: Of things. You should be examined by an er doc or ortho as soon as possible.  If the severity of the pain and weakness is great, don't wait for a doctor's appointment.

Locking fingers: can be many thinks including trigger fingers.  Numbers may be nerve or circulation issues.   Knee and joint pain with locking can mean cartilage injury or many other things. See an orthopedic surgeon

Cold foot after surg: It is not good. Go back to the orthopedic surgeon that did the knee. He/she was in there. That person knows what was seen and done. They will have the best knowledge about this.

Many things: It is hard to say without seeing you in person - Did you injure your back?  A disk herniation or a condition such as "sciatica" could explain your symptoms - alternatively problems such as diabetes and thyroid disease could present similarly.

i have degenerative disc l4 - l5. 2 days ago i got excruciating pain from bum to toes leg. emergency room said pinched nerve. today i awoke with no pain but completely numb from knee to toes, no movement in toes. is this permanent nerve damage?

: Complete numbness with no movement in the lower extremity is concerning. You need an examination by a doctor today.
