Q: electrophysiologist says 6-8 flurry of beats<10sec not nsvt but palpitation and a person like myself with normal left ventricular function, is normal?

Sounds accurate: however the etiology of the palpitations has not been defined. Are the palpitations caused by Afib, USVT, SVT, etc. Once defined then they can be treated so you will sleep better at night.

Q: left atrium volume index of 36 cc/m2. is this significant? everything else on echo & cardiac mri was normal. history of nsvt.

Probably not but che: Ask your Cardiologist to see if your left atrium is enlarged or not on the pictures. During an echocardiogram, many measurements (about 25) are taken on grainy pictures so just by pure chance, there's a 50-50 chance that at least 4 measurements will be off. If only 1 measurement I'd off, you cannot draw conclusions from it. If more measurements support a diagnosis, you'll need Cardiology help. GL!

Q: nsvt on two week holter monitor. the most being 5beats at 254 bpm. pvcs 3/day average pace 1/day average. recent echo revealed normal left and right ventricles. stress test normal response to excercize with no st changes. should i worry about nsvt?

: I assume you only had one run of v tach ( 5 beats) but the rest of the ventricular irritability consisted of a few single unifocal PVCs. I assume your resting EKG showed no QT prolongation or Brugada pattern&amp; there's no family history of unexplained fainting or sudden death. Your prognosis is quite good but if you want complete peace of mind, consult a cardiac electrophysiologist for an opinion.

Q: what's the normal size for left ventricle in women?

This seems right: http://www.echopedia.org/index.php/Normal_Values_of_TTE seems to have the right info. Of course the woman has to be full size for this to be valid.

Normal: The lv ed ranges 3.9-5.6 cm. You have normal lv end diastolic measurement.

Q: had late tiffascan @27th week and everything is normal but 2d echo report mentioned, "efc noted in left ventricle", is it a problem if so how serious?

Ask questions: It's ok to ask questions and ask your doctor to clarify and explain the test results until you really understand ok.

By definition, if: Called mild hypokinesis, then it is abnormally decreased left ventricle wall motion. There is a range of normal, based on visual inspection, heart size and experience, but when the wall motion is less than expected, it is hypokinetic. Mild hypokinesis generally means nearly normal, but it is not a normal variant.

See Neurologist: Normal sizes of the ventricles on CT and MRI shows them to be less than less than 7 mm in adults under 60 years of age and less than 9 mm in adults above 60 years. Ventriculomegaly shows enlarged ventricles/ normal spinal fluid (CSF) pressure. Hydrocephalus shows enlarged ventricles/increased spinal fluid pressure. It can occur when an injury or illness alters the circulation of CSF.

Q: what does effacement of the ventricles mean and the left ventricle being smaller than the right is this normal or worrysome? can an arachnoid cyst cause this?

: It is not feasible to interpret imaging studies in absence of the films themselves, the indications for the studies, and clinical findings prompting such. Suggest this be discussed with the doctors involved in the assessment.
