i am transitioning from labetalol to amlodipine. what are the withdrawal symptoms for labetalol?

Pulse rate: Since it is a beta blocker it could decrease your pulse rate and after tapering off of it could go up. You of course need to look at your blood pressure and I would recommend Monitoring it in the morning, afternoon or evening and write it down so your physician knows.

i was taking 5 mgs of novarsc for around 2 months and my blood pressure is back to normal, so my doctor had me wean off the drug for 2 weeks at reduced dosages. however, now that i am off of it, i am having severe withdrawal symptoms.

See psychiatrist: Alcohol withdrawal symptoms generally peak in 48-72 hours, but can persist for several weeks.  It's also not uncommon for existing anxiety and other disorders to show themselves more clearly, once alcohol is stopped.  A psychiatrist, especially one who's also an addiction medicine doctor, may  be able to help you with your symptoms.  Also you can get support from aa. http://www.aa.org  good luck!

LIKELY WILL: It is longer acting then xanax and you take a large dose. I would expect some withdrawal.

In more sever cases there is agitation, confusion which in the most severe case is termed dts (delerium tremens) and can be fatal.  Seizures and hallucinations may also seen but are separate from dts.  In more sever cases- it takes 7-10 days for symptoms to resolve.
