my t4 is 6.4 my tsh is 24.22 my tpo was >900. my mom had thyroid cancer and last june my levels were normal. should i worry?

Thyroid cancer: ABaer ~ you cannot diagnose thyroid cancer with T3, (liothyronine)T4,TSH. Odd is the TSH is raised and so is T4. T4 should be LOW if TSH raised. REPEAT these blood tests and have MD check that and examine thyroid for nodules and enlargement. If you take oral T4 do not take meds for 2 -- 3 hrs before labs. thanks

Pap thyroid cancer: Very unlikely but your Endocrinologist will almost certainly check your thyroid levels every 3 -6 months. Levels should be OK.

im taking 150mg of levothyroxine after total thyroidectomy & rai a month ago due to papillary thyroid cancer.my tsh level is 0.091uiu/ml.is it normal?

: No, thyroid peroxidase and thyroglobulin antibodies are not used for the diagnosis of thyroid cancer. Take care.

Not likely: There are no serum levels that are markers of thyroid cancer prior to surgery.

Depends: How long ago was surgery? What kind of thyroid cancer and how big was the cancerm what is the thyroglobulin antibodies level and what is the current tsh? A tg of 0.2 is very acceptable if surgery was recently done.

i had to take a radiation pill for thyroid cancer. i feel like my taste has changed? things don't taste the same! will my taste return to normal?

Possibly.: Often with cancer and its therapy things like taste change.  You have or have had something in your body that has or had a deep effect on it in thyroid cancer.  Your therapy is done to destroy the acncer cells wherever they are in your body.  So it may come back if the cancer is gone or be more persistent if you need ongoing therapy.  If this is so, see your doctor for a potential remedy for it.

Not enough info: An abnormal TSH level does not prove or disprove the presence of thyroid cancer.  A TSH is more indicative of whether or not your thyroid is producing enough hormone or not.

Yes.: You had a traumatic experience and a scary diagnosis. Many people become very afraid of any little pain thereafter. But pain is just pain and a note to self that something is off. I suggest seeing a chinese medicine /acupuncture physician.They help balance your body and when balanced you feel better and a lot of your anxiety diminishes!

what can i eat after i finished the low-iodine-diet? i had papillary thyroid cancer. do i have to avoid anything or eat like a normal person? thanks!

Why?: Were you on a low iodine diet for a test? Did you get a partial or total thyroidectomy?  Ordinarily you should be able to eat anything.  You would need to take any thyroid replacement pills they give you everyday.  You would need your TSH level and Thyroglobulin screened periodically.  Hopefully, given how young you are, you have an endocrinologist who has also screened for MEN.
