Some concern: Concentric hypertrophy of the left ventricle can be due to elevated blood pressure or valvular heart problems although your echocardiogram apparently doesn't demonstrate any valvular abnormality. Your findings are only mildly abnormal and a cardiologist would be best qualified to evaluate and advise you in order to prevent future cardiac problems.

Likely normal: Most echo reports have a measurement section and a decriptive section . Your report indicates a discrepancy between the two. Typically the echo reader will put in a summary - if that indicates RV as normal you do not have to worry. The measurements have an inherent error and the reader usually will correct for it

: I assume this echocardiogram was done because EKG had shown left atrial enlargement, ICD code for test is I51.7. Quality of the test was adequate. Both right and left ventricles are normal in function, normal left ventricle size, there are mild regurgitation of both mitral and tricuspid valves but trivial (not important), but left atrial size is not mentioned. I would say a normal echo result.

Previous myocardial infarction from coronary artery disease? Viral infection,old or recent? Excess alcohol ingestion? OK, and...: Sounds pretty good to me. Not quite sure what the dilation is from but that ef of 62% is stone cold normal. If you have normal valvular function, i'd not pay much attention to the lv dilation other than to follow it. As for the effusions, they are, as it says, trivial. Unless you have pulmonary hypertension, i'd probably just follow them. These are general comments only. Ask your md.

MVP: Your echocardiogram is not perfectly normal as it shows mild mitral valve prolapse. All other parameters are normal. MVP is very common and very often causes no problems. Nevertheless I recommend periodic follow-up by a cardiologist as the mvp can worsen, cause atrial arrhythmias and atypical chest discomfort. Very often a click can be heard on stethoscope examination of the heart.
