Rule out other stuff: Fibromyalgia is a 'diagnosis of exclusion' which means that the blood tests done during the work up of fibromyalgia are to rule out other possible diagnoses, such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, vitamin deficiency, & others.  I often check a sed rate (esr), rheumatoid factor (rf), vitamin d and b levels, and thyroid function.  In special cases i might check an ANA or other rheumatologic tests.
