: Pituitary gland also makes HCG. Your level of 0.53 is well below that seen in pregnancy. A level below 5 excludes pregnancy. Level above 30 is diagnostic of pregnancy. For a level between 5-30, the test should be repeated in 4-5 days.

whats the impact of having high protein levels (++++) in a urine of a pregnant woman, at 22 weeks? also checked blood pressure, it was normal. the concern is the high protein. should we be very worried? whats the treatment? dos and donts?

High urine protein: Higher levels of protein may suggest a possible urinary tract infection or kidney disease. Preeclampsia may be a concern if higher levels of protein are found later in pregnancy, combined with high blood pressure. Have your Dr do a urinalysis with culture and check your blood pressure daily and report any readings higher than 120/70 to your OB Dr.

Yes!  Looks great!: Hopefully it will stay that good the WHOLE time! Good luck! Keep your legs elevated when you can.  Do NOT wear flip flops-only good supportive shoes that you are less likely to trip! Keep knees higher than hips when sitting!

Things to look out for: sudden VERY HIGH BP (&gt;140/90), with swelling of hands, face, and feet that doesn't go away after sleeping, perhaps a bad headache--see your OB ASAP!

Several possibilitie: Can mean a urinary tract infection, either lower (confined to bladder) or upper (including kidneys).  Your obgyn can determine that relatively easily.  Can also be the result of the trauma of having a growing fetus/uterus/fluid complex resting on your bladder.  While hematuria (bloody urine) is a symptoms of bladder cancer, in women of child-bearing age, that risk is miniscule.

See below:: Blood group is irrelevant to the diet. Eat fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils, low fat milk products and limited amounts of lean meats. Curtail intake of saturated fats and watch your weight. Exercise regularly about 30 minutes/day.

Yes: We do not consider it safe for a pregnant woman to donate blood.  Blood volume increases dramatically over the course of pregnancy in order to support proper fetal circulation. The loss of blood from the system would likely be tolerated, but the system is not designed for that.  Given the potential risks and the lack of anything to be gained, blood donation is not allowed during pregnancy.
