why did doctors change everyone's meds who was getting generic for vicodin to the generic for norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) meds?

Not important: There is no difference between these 2 drugs, both have Acetaminophen (Tylenol) and Codeine as an ingredients. Lortab=Norco=Vicodin are the same medications. Hope it make sense.

DEA Hydrocodone Law: 10/6/14 was the last day that medical providers could call in any version of hydrocodone based scripts like your Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen). Because scripts like yours can only be written, this has changed who will write for this type of medicine anymore. It has  forced some admin changes within medical offices. Some have stopped writing for it b/c these scripts are considered to be a headache to deal with now.

Pain Management: Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) is the absolute worst choice for long term treatment of chronic pain. I think you need to see a pain management specialist.

: Remember it is a narcotic. But probably no harm in trying if you have not had allergy to it or been addicted.  Should only be use for severe pain.  Discuss with local pharmacist and go to drugs.com for more info.

i've been taking norcos pills for 2 years and i just found out i'm 2 months pregnant. should i stop taking them right away or should i wait?

Wean: Neonatal abstinence syndrome ( withdrawal) is an expected and treatable condition that follows prenatal exposure to opioid agonists such as Norco. However why not get off these medications and spare the baby and spare you the worry? 
I would work with your  Prescriber to wean you off this medication now. You do not need to have a baby born with the potential to have withdrawal at birth.

i accidently somehow took 2 5/325mg norco. then i guess i forgot that i took them already and took 2 more. that was 1.5 hours ago, will i die?

Must be careful: Accidental overdose with Norco is one big reason why people are getting hurt and dying. If you are feeling tired, lethargic, shortness of breath, sleepy or other symptoms go to the ER. Most likely you will not be harmed this time, but you must be very very careful with these pain medications. Follow only your doctors regime, don't share meds, don't drink, and use the least amount necessary.

See a physician!: It does sound like you are in danger. You have taken a lot of medication that can sedate you. Seek help immediately !

: The listed time it takes for 1/2 the hydrocodone to leave the body is ~4 hours leaving 1/2 behind. If the test is sensitive, it will likely detect this drug four hours after ingestion.

: Probably. The time for 1/2 to leave your system is ~4 hours and a full 4 of these "half lives" for most to be undetectable in your blood.
