Tiny kidney stone.: Kidney stones that form within the kidney itself (and not in the ureter, the tube from the kidney to the bladder) usually cause no symptoms. They don't hurt, and they don't obstruct the flow of urine. They are nothing to worry about.

can non-obstructing calculus in inter-polar region of kidney,  size was 0.3cm last year now 0.4cm. the reason i ask is that i have had mild flank pain for 3-4 weeks ?

Stone pain: This can be painful although the stone is not obstructing. See your urologist for recommendations of how this should be handled. if it is entering then receding from the duct can cause some pain and intermittently bleeding.

i have pain in the upper pole hydrocalyx which is obstructed by an 8 mm stone. there are also cysts behind the stones. what is the course of treatment?

Kidney stone: And 8 mm kidney stone is reasonably large sized and is less likely to pass on its own. If it's causing pain it would seem probable that your physician will want to somehow remove the stone. This may involve lithotripsy in which sound waves are used to break up the stone into smaller particles which will pass more easily.

i have a kidney stone that is making its way down. how do i know if it becomes obstructed and becomes dangerous where id need to go to the hospital? would i no longer be able to urinate or feel intense pain?

: If the the stone obstructs the flow of urine from the kidney to the bladder, you most definitely feel intense pain. It all really depends on the size of the stone. Since your other kidney would not have an obstruction and allow urine to pass into the bladder you will still be able to urinate. See a urologist for further guidance.

my  brother has stone in his gbladder. stone obstructed in bile duct. 4month ago, doctor had removed by ercp. now again same.  what is cholecystectomy?

Remove source: The gallbladder is the source of gallstones and will continue to generate stones. It's removal will terminate the episodes. There' are no long term effects from cholecystectomy, no special diet etc. Primary bile duct stones are rare 3% of all cases of choledocholithiasis ( stones in bile duct) a different problem.

Accepted Answer

Sometimes yes: But most likely that it has not received stimulus to empty, such as fasting state.  If it fails to empty in response to eating or to cck, it could be abnormal, especially if cck stimulation causes symptoms.  Consult with GI for specific opinion in your individual case.

Stones: Cholelithiasis, cholecystitis can lead to stone obstruction or scarring.
May be symptomatic and require removal.

Yes: Somebody with an obstructed airway is going to be in significant distress and unable to vocalize their distress.

Sleep apnea: Sleep apnea syndrome is a medical condition that occurs when breathing is obstructed during sleep. Symptoms are often daytime sleepiness and unrefreshing sleep. Left untreated it can lead to poor health outcomes like high blood pressure and heart problems. Discuss with your doctor.
