Drink mixes: Some of the brands of flavored drink mixes add caffeine to some of there products.  You might find them a good replacement.  An energy supplement may do the trick too.

is it safe to drink non-carbonated alcohol with ceramic braces?

Accepted Answer

Yes you can: Avoiding carbonation is to avoid acidic drinks that etch your teeth around the brackets.  In general you should also avoid, fruit juices, red wine, and a carbonated drinks.  The alcohol in itself is not contraindicated (in moderation).

Non soda: Carbonation is what makes drinks bubbly.   It is found in soft drinks.

i drink a lot of carbonated drinks when i'm at work. is this bad?

Accepted Answer

Maybe, maybe not: Sodas with sugar are ok if occasional (excess sugar is bad). Sodas worsen one's calcium & vitamin d status, so drinking excess soda but little nonfat milk can lead to weaker bones. Soda is acidic like vinegar or citrus fruits. Acidity is bad if one has stomach acid problems. Our body neutralizes acidity so our blood is not acidic (our metabolism & enzymes work normally despite our drinking sodas).

No: In addition to carbonated drinks damaging your tooth enamel, and smoking guaranteed to shorten our life, both activities can interfere with optimum healing. Hold off about 10 days to 2 weeks, before rewuming any harmful activities.

Soft drinks are acidifying and can leach calcium but not carbonated mineral water, in fact they offer varying amounts of magnesium and choosing a brand relatively high in magnesium will increase your levels- see http://tinyurl.com/mk4ccxw
