Normal blood flow.: You're probably hearing the blood flowing through blood vessels in the ear area.  When you have your ear on a pillow, you're blocking out environmental noises, so the normal noises of circulation become audible.

hi.my bf woke up yesterday morning and seen that his ear had been bleeding on the inside. it wasn also onhas his pillow. what could this be?

Possible infection: Assuming your bf didn't use a q-tip in his ears, he may have had fluid behind his ear drum.  Then at some point the volume because too much and the ear drum ruptured.  Other possibilities would include a skin condition within the ear canal.  If he has pain, dizziness, vertigo, hearing loss, or tinnitus (ringing in his ears), he should see an ENT doctor soon.

Several causes: In your external or middle ear, you don't want to put anything in your ear for now, just clean, put a cotton plug, and see your doctor for assessment, best wishes

Possible TMD: A popping a clicking sound near your ear is a classic sign of TMJ dysfunction. However, a complete evaluation is needed by a TMJ specialist to diagnose this as the cause. Other symptoms you may experience but may not have connected to these could be headaches, neck pain, sensitive teeth, difficulty in opening your mouth wide without pain in your jaw joint. Anxious!: Your ears can hear all sorts of sounds when they are compressed. So try to shift the angle at which you are laying down and i expect the sounds will go away. Sometimes it is the beat of your heart which can be causing these popping sounds. Try to ignore, relax as it is nothing serious. Hope you caan sleep better now.

Yes: dont use tips in the ear canal.  Bleeding could be from irritation of the canal.  I suppose you are lucky it is not painful...
