See a doctor now: Chest pain needs to be taken seriously. Even atypical chest pain can mean a blocked blood vessel in your heart and can have serious consequences. Other possible causes are Reflux, inflammation of the food pipe (oesophagitis), chest infection, a clot in your lung and so on. You need to see your doctor immediately

i have chest pain all day everyday because i have g.e.r.d but why does my chest hurt worse at night?

Gravity: If chest pain is primarily due to GERD, then it is common to have worse pain at night. The reason is gravity. More stomach acid can leak out of your stomach into your esophagus causing burning. Also, the valve between your esophagus &amp; stomach is less competent (more leaky) due to change in pressure gradient on either side due to lying down position &amp; gravity. Recommend GERD medicine before bed.

Diagnosis?: The cornerstone of treatment is an accurate diagnosis. Nocturnal pain is most likely to be caused by gastroesophageal reflux disease. (gerd). Is your pain worse with deep breath (pleurisy or pericarditis). Is it worse when you compress your rib cage or sternum - breastbone (costochondritis). Heart pain is worse with exercise. Is yours?

i've been having chest pain for 4 days  & only at night. it is not so much a burning but is in the middle of my chest. i haven't done anything unusual?

See your doctor: Chest pain is never something you take lightly. Although it would be unlikely for someone your age to have heart problems, and the symptoms you describe are also unlikely to be heart related, it's best to be seen and a good examination made. There are a few things that could do this, but best see your doctor.

Musculoskeletal : Positional changes and symptoms at rest are unlikely to implicate the heart.  Most likely they imply a musculoskeletal cause.

Need an MD!: It sounds like anxiety induced  neuro- muscular chest pain.Check your thyroid. Rare congenital anomalous heart conditions need to be ruled out. Remember  women's heart disease is special!
